The replacement for Convoy, Contemplation, has announced its venue: the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Chester. The latest information is also that all of Convoy’s guests (Judith Clute, Peter Dickinson, Robin McKinley, and Sharyn November) have been invited, but none have yet been confirmed.Attending memberships are £45.

Woah, those room rates are high!
Are they? My memory of Concussion/Interaction is that they were in the £40/night range.
I think the room rates around around the same as for Concussion, which is not surprising given it’s the same chain of hotels and looks to be about as nice a hotel. It’s harder to compare to Interaction because of the number of hotels, but it’s more than I paid for mine, and I think it’s more than the Hinckley Island was.
Looks like there are plenty of nearby hotels which might be cheaper options.
Since the Concussion Hotel pages are still up, it’s not hard to discover that the Chester rates are higher, but not by much (£85 and £75 for double and single as opposed to £80 and £65)
